Our Background

Chris Movement CIC is a dynamic non-profit social enterprise, established as a company limited by guarantee and registered in England (Company No. 12838078). Born from a deep passion for social justice and community upliftment, we operate from our heart in Bolton, addressing the pressing needs of those often overlooked. Our roots trace back to the visionary experiences of our founder, Chris Akuffo Addo, whose global journey across Europe has shaped our holistic approach to health, social care, and inclusive support. With a focus on practical, compassionate services, we've grown into a trusted partner for individuals facing hardship, delivering tangible change through innovative programs and unwavering dedication.

About the Founder: Chris Akuffo Addo

Chris Akuffo Addo, the proud CEO of Chris Movement CIC, is a philanthropist and leader whose life story embodies resilience, cultural bridge-building, and a relentless drive for positive impact. With a rich background in information technology, health, and social care, Chris has dedicated his career to empowering the underserved, drawing from diverse experiences that span continents.

His higher education in Sweden—a nation celebrated for its innovative, inclusive learning—equipped him with a robust academic foundation and a profound appreciation for multicultural collaboration. Immersed in Sweden's progressive environment, Chris honed a global perspective, learning to navigate diverse ideas and cultures with openness and creativity.

For over a decade in Italy, Chris immersed himself in grassroots philanthropy, assisting vulnerable communities on the front lines. There, he organized aid deliveries, provided essential resources, and uplifted families in crisis, all while embracing the warmth of Italian culture. This hands-on work solidified his commitment to on-the-ground support, teaching him the power of empathy in action.

Today, as a Registered Manager Designate in the UK, Chris champions the rights of individuals with disabilities, overseeing care programs that promote independence and inclusion. Through Chris Movement CIC, he channels his expertise into broader societal change, advocating for equitable access to resources and opportunities. Chris's mission? To create inclusive spaces where abilities—seen and unseen—unlock every person's full potential, one empowered life at a time.
