Community Relief Connect: Digital Food Voucher Support For Bolton
The Community Relief Connect Project is a community-led initiative delivered by Chris Movement CIC to provide immediate and practical support to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity within the Bolton community. The project was designed in response to increasing cost-of-living pressures and the growing number of households struggling to afford essential groceries.
At its core, the project focuses on restoring dignity, independence, and choice to people facing financial hardship. Rather than relying on emergency food parcels, beneficiaries receive free electronic food vouchers, enabling them to purchase essential food items that best meet their household needs. This approach allows families to choose culturally appropriate foods, accommodate dietary requirements, and shop in a way that feels normal and respectful.
Through structured community outreach, referrals, and trusted local networks, eligible beneficiaries are identified and supported. Once approved, recipients are issued e-vouchers that can be redeemed at designated local shops for groceries of their choice. This flexible system not only reduces stigma but also promotes a sense of autonomy and empowerment.
Overall, the Community Relief Project demonstrates Chris Movement CIC’s commitment to compassionate, dignified, and practical support for vulnerable residents in Bolton, helping to ease immediate food insecurity while strengthening community resilience
